This is a good picture. Look at those rear tires!

BTW, the 7.0 427 w/500+ hp has been confirmed by the General. Seems that the folks over at the CTSV stable let the cat out of the bag...

Enjoy!

Jim

The Dec 13 issue of Autoweek has a photo of the 2006 Z06 on the cover. Looks great, too! More pics with the article inside. You can also see the pics and article at www.autoweek.com

They also posted some estimated specs on it.
7.0L V8, 500hp, 475 lb.ft torque, six speed manual, 3130 lbs, and 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

The accompanying article is pretty good, too.

Thanks,
Razoo.

Well, I have finally seen one on the hiway for the first time today coming home from work and I must say, it was pretty damn sweet lookin. Black on black and movin fast so I didn't get a great look at it but I was impressed all the same.

This is a genuine question here guys, I'm not yanking anybody's chain - with rear tyres that big what kind of spare does it have?
I'm trying to imagine a spacesaver fitted onto the rear and I just can't see how that would work with something that powerful.

The ZO6, along with every Corvette since the '97 MY, has never had a spare. The non-ZO6 cars get run flat tires and the ZO6 gets a flat tire repair kit consisting essentially of a can of "Fix-A-Flat" and a portable air compressor.

Thanks Jim.

That's a concept that hasn't reached us here in the UK (to my knowledge) - I suppose that spares nowadays on hi-tech cars are really a bit like kick-starts on modern motorcycles. I can remember when I bought my Kawasaki Z250 in the mid-eighties the salesman saying "why would I need a kick-start, you've got an electric start!" - spares appear to be going the same way I reckon.

I thought this was a cute way to save weight and destroy the corvettes lines

IF YOU CAN,T SMOKE THE TIRES AT WILL,FROM A 60 MPH ROLLING START YOUR ENGINE NEEDS MORE WORK!!"!
IF YOU CAN , YOU NEED BETTER TIRES AND YOUR SUSPENSION NEEDS MORE WORK!!

That version would sell well in the UK, it's small enough to be economical!
