Hello I usually hang out on the 58-59 section some of you may know my 59. I just bought a 57 2dr 210. It has been converted to a four speed trans and has the boss on the steering column for the shifter handle. I want to get rid of that boss and wanted to know what you all have done , repo column piece, cut it off or other. I what to keep my original column minus that boss.

I did just that, I cut off the boss for the original column shifter, then filled in the hole with a liquid aluminum. After it dried, I filed it smooth, painted it and it was good to go.

simple quick ?? here.......
your photo is upside down. was that something you overlooked when uploading or did it rotate when you uploaded it? IF the latter, I had same issue recently with 2 pics, 1st rotated 180 upside down and 2nd rotated 90 sideways

that boss on the steering column is what I consider a piece of nostalgia for these cars,
I'm the one that drove the pin out to remove the original shifter,
I would never remove that shifter boss,
the boss is cool but having the rubber boot on it is even better,
It's just one of those things.....
do you still have the gear select on the speedo "V"?
