Hello. Bought one at the local auto parts store today. Was 1/4" too large both housing and pinion shaft. Pretty sure this differential is original to car. 8460n seems to be the part number for several brands for this car. Any suggestions? I have a micrometer if needed.

Thinking I may have a Pontiac rear. Casting says D86 on one side and GM16 on another. Has CB0608B stamped. Any guidance appreciated.
