I need a left side 427 exhaust manifold for a 66 Impala. Part # 3880827
Is the 70-74 C3 Vette manifold 3969869 the same manifold wit and updated part number?

I tried C3 manifolds on a 66 427 but it did not have the relief cast in the manifold to clear the steering box.
I had to use C2 427 manifolds.
It's been a few years so hopefully my memory is accurate.

I don't know the casting number for 1967 and 1968 exhaust manifolds but when I read your post I thought likely those should be closer than a Corvette manifold.

I also started to think about how close the steering box is on the driver side to one of the pipes on my headers. I didn't reply because I don't know the Corvette exhaust manifold but I think mitchlr1 could have a point. Does the Corvette manifold exit in a similar location? That seems to be the area GM likes to tailor to the car.

Edit: I found the PN for the driver side (Left side) for 1968. It was 3914613. I believe that's the one I ended up buying an extra of. I bought it prior to finding a pair while looking for the passenger side.

The L72 427 used the C2 427 manifolds in the B cars.

I missed that you wrote you used the C2 manifold in your reply above. Interesting information about the use in B-cars.

It would be interesting to see photos of the manifolds side-by-side. I don't have my own photos of them.

Good information. I guess that limits the possibilities....

That stands to reason, a 66 Corvette was a C2. Probably changed with the newer style.

08 Silverado
66 Impala
56 Stepside shortbed
55 Bel Air sedan
81 Corvette
02 Monte Carlo (bought new)
