Purchased from and rear NOS bumper guards for my 64 Impala in its original boxes with hardware and weathered instructions, albeit both boxes had only front guard instructions. Showed guards to my mechanic who was somewhat leery whether or not they were actually NOS, or aftermarket.
He pointed to weld spots which may not be consistent with time period (see pictures), but more modern technique. I hope he's wrong, but can someone validate if his assessment is accurate.
Like I mentioned earlier, he's not 100% sure but I would like to have a different opinion.

NOS bumper guards fit the factory bumpers.
Repro ones typically can not fit the factory bumpers leaving gaps between the guards and the factory bumpers.
Those look like my NOS bumpers guards for the welded areas

Those are NOS. Repops don’t have the L and R on them.
