Thanks in advance. I am after some help with my 65 SS resto wiring run and the diagrams I have don't seem to solve my query.
Car was taken apart many years ago with clearly not enough notes made but the issue is I seem to have two left over dash light globe sockets.
I have a separate run which I assume comes from the engine bay direct to tach which has 2 grey wires and associated globes along with the two tach wires. This leaves 2 left over grey wires at the end of the instrument cluster wiring harness.
I have no globes in these globe sockets (at present) so is it possible these last two globes were redundant in the SS cars with the tach and just left in the loom but not used?
Thanks
Hmmm- any chance the two extra sockets are for the heater/defrost controls box? That got me screwed up at first. Also is the connector for the console wiring present. Should be if you’ve got a real SS harness,

Thanks. Yes I have the console connection to clock and console box globes.
Will try to locate the heater/defrost controls box and check. It is in a box somewhere ..!!
Here are some possibilities:
-Ash tray light?
-Heater controls already mentioned
-Map light mirror?
-Glove box light?
-Should there be something attached to the passenger door-jamb area to turn on the under dash lights?
Thank you all, I have solved it now.
Found the heater control box and that has 2 light globe sockets so all globes accounted for now.
Was not aware there could be an ashtray light and have not seen that on any diagrams.
In regard to the Tach feed which comes through the firewall, at the engine side there are two wires, a grey and a black with a purple trace. Each ends in two plugs in series, if that makes sense.
Can anyone help with where these attach ?
Thanks
