Does anyone know what headers will fit a '97 Expess 2500 5.7 (L31) van? Or a good flowing performance exhaust manifold?

70 L camino, grampa engine, g-force 5 spd, road rage suspension. Pray first before all else fails.

The only headers made for the 96-02 Express chassis have not been made in a few years now. Doug Thorley made a very nice set at one point for them. There are probably some others that fit and I know that shorties will typically fit. When my stock manifolds cracked at about 50K miles, I put a pair of coated Summit branded shorties that were made by either JBA or Flowtech at the time. The shorties made a significant power and a noticeable mileage increase on an otherwise stock engine. The stock manifolds are JUNK. The stock manifolds being cracked destroyed the stock catalytic converters. I replaced the cats with 3" high flows and also replaced the restrictive stock dual 3" inlet single 2.75" outlet stock muffler with an aftermarket muffler made for a 2006 8.1L that was dual 3" inlet and single 4" outlet and matching tailpipe.

Looked up the headers on Summit, sounds like the way to go, along with the rest of the exhaust system upgrade.

Thanks for the reply...
