As I'm installing the AAW Classic Update on my 1968 Impala I'm also comparing the connections to the OE harnesses. In some cases I'm moving the OE connector to the new harness; if it was different.

To this topic there are several places where harness or connector retainers were used for the OE design. One of my "saddle" style retainers was damaged and I see another place where a "slider" style was either missing or at least seemed like it was the OE design intent.

I decided to create them when I couldn't find them on the AMK and Clipsandfasteners websites..

They don't seem to be shown in my '68 manuals but I'm beginning to see other years have more complete information. Does anyone know the PNs? I'll share images of my models. I tried to duplicate the OE nearly identically.

Saddle. This gets taped to the harness and is inserted through a 1/4" hole. They're used on the rear harness and the harness going to the rear.

Slider style slides into the GM 56-series connectors. The arrow is designed for 1/4" hole. There's one on the rear harness starting point.

I looked through the 67 manual and didn't find the PNs but I did notice some of the detail regarding wire routing in the under dash area seemed to be a bit better than in the 68 manual.

I also started putting my rear lamp harness in place and the end-of-the-line of the harness uses one of the saddle type. That's actually the position I removed to model the replacement. The replacement worked perfectly. I was very happy with how the head snapped in.

Here are a couple of photos. There's a channel with a 1/4" hole in the passenger rear trunk area where the arrow gets pushed into.
