Hey everyone! I have a conv 61 impala that was painted in early 2000s. Not long after being sprayed it was wet sanded and polished.

Now years later I have small pin head sized bubbles that showed up that you can feel as well. They have not grown over the eye are at all. One spot is where the quarter meets the filler panel between the trunk and back window where the factory fills with lead that is still present. The other it on the top corner of the trunk lid.

What would cause this?

I am about to repaint the car and want to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Hopefully this link works for pics I am new to this lol.

By chance was there ever a plastic cover on the car?

i have the same issue. i failed to dig deeper into it so i have no answer. i would get a sharp pick or razor and cut the bubble off to see if there is a rust root in there.

Yes unfortunately I got a little eager and used a stripping wheel on the one spot where the lead is. I will try a razor on the other spot on the trunk lid.
