I replaced the EGR valve on my 1992 K1500 5.7L and when I was putting the hose on the EGR valve, the other end of the hose pulled loose from the EGR solenoid, at which point I noticed that there are two hose nipples on the EGR valve side of the EGR solenoid, with the second one not having a hose on it. Should there be a hose on that second nipple and, if so, where does the other end of that hose attach? (With the EGR valve replaced, the truck is running much better, but the idle is still not perfect, so I am wondering if this un-hosed nipple has anything to do with it.)

Welcome,
There's 3 apparent ports on the EGR solenoid - but only 2 of them are actually hose connections. They're easily identified as they have barbs for retaining the hose boot. The smooth one is simply a vent and should be left open. Originally, they had small foam filters, but by now they're long gone.
