Need some advice.I need to reattach the body mount reinforcement plates on the rear area of a C1.These are located just ahead of the rear wheel well at that mounting point. They were riveted with steel hard rivets which obviously rusted off.Problem is they were attached BEFORE the outer body panel was attached to the inner fiberglass rocker panel and no access with cutting the area open. And of course another "Restored Car"! already painted and you know the rest.Any suggestions are welcomed BUT,I dont want to cut to body open AND No Pop Rivets!

I had a similar problem on a '59 and ended up using large pop rivets. If all you want is for the end result to "look" original you could put rivets in the original holes and glue the plate in place.
