I have a '55 Chevy rear and everything has been rebuilt or replaced on car but I have a oil leak at the left rear axle .
Is this a simple fix ? I ordered new o rings and gaskets .
Can I just pull axle and replace o rings and gasket ?? Should I use any RTV for additional sealant ?
Thanks guys

Yes,you can remove the axle shaft from any of these rear axles from 1955-1964.The 55-57 stock rear axles have an oil seal installed in the housing and o rings on the bearing and the gasket on the axle flange.58-64 put the oil seal and o rings on the bearing as an assembly. There are not interchangeable!

Almost all replacement bearing have the seal in the bearing. Link to bearings.
Check the vent on the axle tube so it doesn't built up pressure.
