Had a previous post about mouse urine smell. Now seeking help on how to control the aftermath of the corrosive urine left behind. I cannot reach all the rusty areas around the inside top of the car, or inside the door pillars where there were nests. The metal is solid with different degrees of rusted surface. Attempting to remove as much rusty material as possibly. Question is should I try to treat the areas with a rust encapsulator then paint or just use a paint that says it can be sprayed over rust.

You mentioned getting a soda blaster...why not do that first, then clean it up and then spray with rust encapsulator.

rust encapsulator will encapsulate the rust not stop it or prevent it. pics would help. i would be thinking maybe something like muratic acid, clean up, ospho, epoxy primer. maybe self etching primer.

My choice would be Ospho if you can reach the offended area. Larry

Evapo-rust where you can reach areas.
Last resort is a coating. I have had great results with SEM coatings.

Thinking of trying an Eastwood product that is made for interior of frame rails. Appears to be a paint that has a flexible hose so can get into all the cavities on the interior, I may be going overboard some but have run my camera thru all these areas where the mice were and there is surface rust so figure I should try to coat it . Also noticed a stench coming back. Well this passed week found more mouse nests , this time under the front door bottom hinge. This area also has open area which runs under part of the rocker panel.
