A quick search says 56-63 3 speed manual, possibly out of a Corvette.

Have never lived in the past, but arrived there recently

I've tried to get this across to people, but there are some people out there who REALLY refuse to acknowledge or accept it.
That is a SAGINAW design 3sp, built at the Muncie plant. It is NOT, repeat, NOT a Muncie design!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a Saginaw design, AGAIN, built at a Muncie plant. Oh well, some will REFUSE to accept this. OK.
That particular 3sp is a 58-65 version-----------FOR PASS CARS----------NOT Corvettes.
It has the short tail housing with the mount provision at the rear of the tail housing------------------ --THIS IS ONLY A PASS CAR FEATURE!!!
Even though the design was 58-65, there was a MAJOR INTERNAL change to all gears as well as the tail shaft which went from 16splines to 27 splines for 63-65 versions.

The Corvette 3sp had the long tail housing, with a providion for a mount.
AND, AND, AND------------THE CORVETTE TAIL HOUSING HAD BOSSES WITH THREADED HOLES FOR MOUNTING THE SHIFTER.

Is this tranny correct for a ‘63 , 3 speed? And if it’s not what is the one that is?

Does it have the coarse spline (16splines) or the fine spline (27splines) tail shaft?
The 58-62 had the 16spline tail shaft. The 63-65 had the 27spline tail shaft.

That is the 55-62 style tail shaft splines.

These are 4spds. The coarse, 16spline is a 62-earlier, the fine, 27spline is a 63-later. The shafts are the same diameter, just different splines.
