Automotive electrical.

those little rubber boot things... like, the ones with a hole in the back that slide over a wire in the center and then the bigger opening slides over a small light housing? It is like a mini shifter boot, but for electrical wiring?

Anyone know what those are called?

I've found terminal covers, boot covers, shifter boots, all sorts of things while searching but I have not hit on the right terminology yet.

Anyone know what they are called? I am trying to buy some.

I bought a vintage automotive light, was checking it out, pulled the old rubber one off of the back of the light to look at something, I was putting it back on and it disintegrated... cuz, old stuff is fun and all that.

Thanks, hopefully someone knows what I am talking about. :D

Yep, the terminology I needed was 'wiring boot'.

some other variations for folks in the future:

wire boot

Brake light rubber boot

Tail light rubber boot

light socket boot

Thanks for the replies folks.
