I'm gonna start putting my engine back together this weekend and was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks that will make it easier for me. I have the clymer manual for it but I'm sure you guys can tell me more than the book can.Do you guys prefer assembly lube, motor oil or what for motor assembly ? The APE cams say use only kendall oil is that for assembly or for running in the motor? Gimme the tips motor guys.

i would only use the paste type cam lube not the liquid. also for bearings and everything else i would use the thick liquid engine assembly lube like torco mpz. cause thats what i have on the shelf. reason is cause the engine will not be run today or tomorrow. might be a long time before its run so these thick lubes will stay put much longer than thin lubes. sorry for the late reply.
