5th Generation 76 Impala. Only the vent immediately to the right of the driver's information console seems to be pushing air. All other vents seem inoperative.
The car has the Comfortron system and the A/C hasn't worked for an unknown number of years. To avoid roasting to death I've removed all heater hoses.
If I can get all vents to work, that would be a nice improvement. Does anyone have any thoughts on where I should start looking?

I know on the non AC cars there are nobs attached to cables on each kick panel to open and close the side vents. and one close to that vent you mentioned to operate that one.
If you dont see the nobs on each kick panel you might not have that option in the car. Those vents may be attached to the fan system.
if the blower fan is operating and you dont have air flow something might be blocking the vents.
maybe pull the fan out and see if there is anything blocking the airflow.

The fan indeed blows well but only out of the center vent immediately right of the dash cluster. No where else.
There are no knobs or other more manual type of controls.
I'm in the middle of somewhat disassembling the dash to upgrade the lighting for the speedometer. The rest of the dashboard isn't budging an inch no matter how many screws I seem to find to remove.
As far as removing the fan, I can't even find where it is located under the hood. There's a big plastic lump where the A/C lines and aluminum looking A/C containers run into so I imagine there's a heat exchanger inside the big plastic lump. But there's nothing which resembles a fan motor at all so they've really hidden it well.

If it were me id probably start looking around from under the dash to see whats connected to what. That you you might be able to tell if something is disconnected or missing.
I dont know if all the vents are connected to the same ductwork. id imagine it is but i dont have AC in my car so i wouldnt know for sure.

Good lord, what an awkward place for them to place the blower motor!
Well, I do know the motor works and it blows strongly but only from the middle vent. My home garage isn't set up for auto repair.
Next time I have the car in at my mechanic I'll bring this up with him and see what he thinks may be wrong.
