Hello,
I'm looking for a new six-volt battery for my new restoration. What are you all using? Is there a tar top battery available or is there a realistic looking cover to go over a optima battery.

Would this cover for an Optima work?

VCCA and early Corvette folks may have more info.

For the purest, this is what you'd be looking for...or a cover that resembles this. I have seen the empty cases on eBay before which still needed to have the plates and tar added...but I don't think those where Chevrolet cases. I did find this one also that is more smooth (see LINK). For someone who is creative, perhaps a certain amount of detail could be added (you have to move to the seventh item on the top row, once the link is opened).
