sure looked like it to me. Why else would Truex go balistic on him like that? Nascar doesn't seem to think he jumped the gun. The camera shows another story (to me)...

Hard to see my dude Truex dominate the last half of that race and see it evaporate on the last restart. But that's racing as they say...

Villain strikes. Nobody took him out, which my favorite driver should have done. They are all my favorite drivers.

It was a judgment call.

If Hamlin wins the championship, I'll be as upset as Truex.

Today I saw a replay taken from overhead from a blimp or copter. It clearly shows Hamlin jumping the start.

Shame on Nascar. They should have been able to see that from the tower, even if I couldn't from the ground level TV coverage.

Agreed. Martin showed an unbelievable amount of maturity in his post race interview. But he was seething. I could tell.

Once in a blue moon, Nascar reverses a decision. Maybe Gibbs will petition that call?

Anyway, its done. On to M's ville.

Today Nascar admitted that Hamlin jumped the start.

Said they "couldn't review it" before making a call before the race was over. I.e., if it had been earlier in the race they could have reviewed it for 10 laps before making the call.

They need to do better than that. Everyone that's leading with less than 10 or so laps on a restart just got a free pass to jump the start until they fix this.

They're still talking about it in the racing media.

Several drivers and former drivers came out supporting Hamlin. A few not.

If Nascar needed time to review, they've had enough now. They could have ended the race and afterwards punished Hamlin. They didn't have any problem with punishing SVG 30 seconds (and from P2 to P23) in the Xfinity race at COTA last week. They didn't have any problem with disqualifying Hamlin and Busch at Pocono 2 years ago. Since it's Hamlin, it's still not too late to take him out.
