Hello ChevyTalk.
Let me introduce myself. I'm a Porsche enthusiast and part time Porsche Wheeler Dealer, except I'm both Mike and Elvis (Ant, Edd). I'll buy Porsches that need maint, polish them, and sell them on. During Covid and the bubble, I decided to duck out of the WD business as I didn't want to or could afford getting stuck with an overinflated car when the bubble burst. So I started selling local club member's Porsches on consignment. Works great for both of us - they don't have the time or experience to navigate those waters and I do.
So how does that get me here? A club member wants me to sell his '85 911 coupe. I can do that. Then he adds he's got a 2nd car he wants to sell - a '70 Chevelle SS. Hmmm, intriguing - a car from my childhood. I've been learning all I can about the car and what's important and that's been fun.
But my question is, where do I advertise it? The owner and I are NOT interested in the auction sites. I immediately thought about Hemmings, the magazine my dad advertised all his old car parts. I was shocked to see they charge $150 for an ad. I guess that's why 95% of the ads there are businesses vs private party, but that seems a bit spendy to me. Besides the classifieds here, are there other popular forums or sales sites that will get the eyeballs needed to find a new owner?
Some info about the SS:

welcome to ct. i would just blast it out there. local adds, local hotrod groups on social media, craigslist, and anything else thats cheap or free. there is even a classified ad section here. car looks nice but its not stock original so that may deter hardcore buyers. price?
70 L camino, grampa engine, g-force 5 spd, road rage suspension. Pray first before all else fails. |

Thanks for the response. I have it listed on 3 CL sites and have gotten country wide responses. I’ll look for some FB groups. I don’t see a Classifieds for the overall CT forum, nor do I see a Chevelle classifieds subsection. Where would I officially advertise it here?
Yes, there have been some mods, most of which would be considered Day 2 type updates. Other than the cam, it would be easy to take it back to total stock w/o a lot of effort.
Currently listed at $59,900.

Here's another site (Chevelle only) that you could list it on. Good luck with your sale. https://www.chevelles.com/forums/
