I am looking to install a parking brake in my 54 bel air. Car has a 68 camaro rear I did convert to power front disc brakes.
The original parking brake hardware was removed by prior owner although I still have hand brake lever
Anyone tackle this before ?

I have used a lever type E brake from a late model car. Probably more suitable with bucket seats though. I remember reading that an E brake for the 55-57 Chevy's are easily adapted too. If you want or need it to be original you'll have to scrounge up the parts you are missing. There is a cross piece that's part of the mechanism that crosses the drive shaft and may not work too well with the open drive shaft.

I think DZAUTO has used a 55-57 brake on his 51. Maybe he will see this and respond.
