I've been gone a while but I'm still poking away at my little 292 (308) for my 53 3100. Ryan Falconer V-12 head. Billet crank, billet cam and steel billet rods all by Crower. Mains dowelled and girdled. 5 stage dry sump. Electromotive coil over EMS. Weiand 6-71 with 2 Quick Fuel 650 DP. Holly 16 jet fogger nitrous plate.

It's a Ryan Falconer V-12 head. His V-12 is based on two Chevy Sixes so the bore and cam spacing is the same. It will require a deck plate to bolt up and handle the HP. It flows 340I/220E. It's a semi Hemi design. Obviously cross flow.

Will do. I'm currently working on getting the deck plate made and it will have to be furnace welded to the deck and sleeved. This winter I'm concentrating on the chassis for my 53 3100. I have the axles done.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. It's just getting warm enough here to get outside and work. I'm hoping to get the chassis done this summer. I took a project this spring building an O'Reilly store about 4 hours away so I will only be home on the weekends for about 4 months. Here is a picture before I tore it apart. I bought it in 1980 when I got out of the Navy.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Funny you should say that. I currently have a TKO600 with the higher 1st and the higher overdrive that I had upgraded by Harlon Motorsports. I'm weird so I smoothed the casting and base cleared it. Then I replaced all the fasteners with ARP bolts. I always knew I was on the edge with this transmission but was in denial. My 292 build started out with a 4-71 and an iron race head. When I got my V-12 head and 6-71/nitrous I couldn't pretend anymore. Now I'm shopping for a T56 Magnum. I have a McCleod duel disk clutch. I'll have to paint it too I suppose.

Are you leaving the body as-is? I think it looks great...I started to work on mine, but got tied up in my new shop which I'm trying to move machines to now. I have a few up there, but need to still get electricity and water hooked up, I have a small bathroom with a shower in the shop.
I'd like to get a lift in my new shop, I'm tired of working on the ground, dirt/oil dropping on me, gravel down my pants...I've been wrestling with my flatbed's ignition, unfortunately it's a Ford. It only has about 10 points of failure. The column is expensive to get a rebuild, I wish they had made it simple like Chevys. Did you know Ford has a solenoid on the starter, but has another <cough> relay (their words) to give a small amp to trigger the larger solenoid. The relay looks like and acts like a solenoid, so that's the odd thing. Every Chevy I have ever owned has just one solenoid on top of the starter.
That powertrain is a piece of art!
I have to ask, did you weld that stand up? Those are pretty nice looking welds if you did. That is a behemoth of a stand!
