I ordered new front shocks last year and installed. I noticed the front end seemed higher, perhaps 2 inches or so. I figured the new shocks just needed time to settle in, but my 67 still sits too high. I dont know the part number of what was installed, or even have the paperwork anymore. Did I get the wrong parts, or how do I figure out what length is correct? Big block 67.

Make sure the shocks aren't bottomed out as installed, that would hold the front end up, and ride like crap. Shocks themselves will not raise the suspension. If the car is lowered or raised for that matter, stock length shocks may not work. Take them out see what happens, measure the standing height first as a reference.

ive seen that on some cars that changed over to gas shocks.

Can't see gas charge shocks raise the car, I can manually collapse them with maybe 35 lbs force at the most. Maybe there are some out there that are stiffer, but you can imagine how they would affect the ride, unless in a heavy vehicle. I have KYB gas shocks all around in my 51 Belair, can bounce all 4 corners, no height change after installation. Granted there are firmer shocks out there.

They are not bottomed out and the ride is fine. And they are Kyb. But after installing them I noticed the height about 2 inches higher. I suppose I will have to take them out and do some measuring.

Look at the compressed length, then compare that to the mounting points of the shock at normal ride, the shock should be in mid travel when installed.
