Hope someone can help with this:
I'm currently in the process of rewiring my 56 210. I have no plan to remove the headliner. Does any one know where the dome light wiring comes into the car from behind the headliner and what colors they are. I'm assuming the ground is white.
Also did the 56 210 have courtesy lights under the dash? I don't have any. I will probably add them.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jim

At the base of the driver's door jam, behind the rear passenger side interior panel. It comes from under the door threshold plate and metal cover (from the fuse panel).

The dome light is powered by an orange wire that is in the rear harness from the plug under the dash near the drivers kick panel. The orange wire breaks out of the rear harness behind the rear seat and follows the roof rail under the headliner across to the light. As you suggested, a white wire grounds the dome light, either at any door switch, or at the headlight switch. The white wires to all the door switches is in the rear harness and the white wire to the headlight switch goes through the rear harness plug, to the under dash harness, to the headlight switch.
