Hello, a friend asked me to rewire his `58 Buick Special Riviera 2-door HT. I tried to contact AA by using the online contact sheet , but never got an answere for mor than two weeks, meanwhile. Just had the idea to try it via CT. I used AA kits for a `55, `57 and my own `59 El Camino. I was hoping there will be a solution for the Buick , also. How about trying to modify a `58 Chevy kit. Or will be a generic kit be the way to go. Aside from an Edelbrock carb, modern alternator and a Pertronix ignition the car is stock 364cu/in with automatic trans. Thank you for any input! Greetings from Germany, Thomas

I certainly remember you. As I recall, you picked up the 59 El Camino harness directly from the me
at the office when you were over here on Holiday. Unfortunately, there is no good solution for that 58 that I am aware of. We do not offer a modified Classic Update style harness for a 58 Chevy unfortunately. My only thought is to try Y-N-Z products in Redlands California. They do make some of the "off" stuff that we do not. Let me know how you make out.

Hi Donny, thanks for the suggestion.I contacted Y-N-Z and they would be able to custom make a wiring kit for the `58 Buick, but the price is outrageous, nearly four times an AA kit. We have to think about it and see if we can find another solution or maybe start with a generic kit.

Their stuff is all special ordered and done one at a time, hence, the higher price. Plus, that harness would be extremely invoice and very large and heavy due to the nature of that car. Not a Chevy for sure, LOL. If you want to use a universal, be prepared to do a ton of cutting and splicing with many hours of work involved. How much is that worth? Just trying to help.
