Does anyone know the correct black color code for the inside of the hood, inner fenders, rad support, etc, for a 57? Is it a matte finish or semi gloss? Those areas on my 57 were painted in gloss Rustoleum black and just don't look right to me!

I have the 57 restoration guide by Denny Williams and Harold Louisiana. It says the underside of the hood should be painted with DuPont's Imron which has been flattened to a gloss that is between semigloss and gloss. Figure that out.(with 10 being high gloss on a scale of 1 to 10, the correct gloss would be about 7.5).
The firewall is painted body color as is the trunk.

Classic Chevy has a Tech Book (you can purchase or find a friend with one) filled with valuable information. In the Paint Section on page 9 (the page numbers may change with future updates) there is a list of most all colors and where they should be painted. I found this information to be truly valuable when keeping the car original.
