2014 Chevy Spark LS 1.2L
Had the CEL on for several months, went to get it inspected and found code P0119. After numerous attempts to address it, now another code is up - P00B7. The first one meaning "coolant temp circuit intermittent". A Chevy dealer mechanic told me I must have a leak or clogged system. The car does overheat now and then, about once a month. I've replaced the thermostat, all 3 coolant sensors, the wires going to these sensors (yes my connections are good), the water pump and housing, and 2 of the heater hoses. (The other old ones are not leaking at all.) Also replaced coolant with Dexcool/distilled water, with carefully measured proportions. Before refilling, I ran a garden hose to flush system both directions while hot and running, with no apparent blockage. After changing water pump and the pump-to-reservoir hose, the CEL went off, but the codes remain. My license plates are 2 months expired now- I really need to get this fixed! Any ideas? What am I missing here??

Ok, no cel, but the codes are in history? Did you clear them with a scanner?

On my cheapo scanner, it just says they are still found. About a month ago some shop cleared them and it erased everything including the emissions info. So I had to drive it around for over 2 weeks just to get those to reset. Should I try to clear it myself and see what happens, or would it set me back a few more weeks?

Once you clear live codes, the emissions drive cycle is required, not an issue if your state inspection is not due for a month or more. If they are active codes, the lite would be on. Try AutoZone with their better scanner, see what shows up. The codes could be pending or just history codes, big difference here.
