Hi can anyone tell me what type of bolt is used to mount a front bench seat into a 1938 chev sedan. I need type of thread and size so that I can buy new bolts.

They are a fine-pitch thread, 5/16 diameter I think. If you are using original floor attachment floor nuts you should chase the threads with the proper thread tap with taping fluid or oil before installing new bolts.
