If you are running three Monojets, that's a considerable upgrade from the factory setup. The engine can definitely pull in more air as you have tripled the intake capacity.
I see going any other route as a waste. Be sure that you have a free flowing enough exhaust to be able to handle the additional intake airflow.

ive heard of holley weber 2 barrel conversions. you wont get tons of power out of that engine. i would do a compression test, better yet a cylinder leakdown test and cam inspection before spending any money on it.
70 L camino, grampa engine, g-force 5 spd, road rage suspension. Pray first before all else fails. |

That's a great point. That engine was never known as a horsepower giant, but that little inline six made enough torque to move each of the Chevrolet vehicles (except Corvette) over its lifetime as the base engine.
Perhaps it is best served in its stock configuration?

Ah...ok. Understood.
Adding a carburetor might not be the answer to additional horsepower. But, you could source an old Dualjet which is a Rochester 2-bbl carburetor from the 60s/70s that might help.
However, make sure that your carburetor is sized for your engine. Using a Dualjet from a V8 without modifications will only make it run badly.
Remember, the factory used the Monojet on these and they ran quite well.

Another carburetor to consider for GM vehicles is the Varajet which is essentially a staged 2-bbl carburetor. Think of it as a Quadrajet concept with only one side, one primary and one secondary.

Yes, I agree that fuel injection would be a great upgrade. I was getting the idea that he wanted to stick with a carburetor so I offered that as an option.
