My '57 Chev, with stock 283 engine has a new clutch. The clutch will not fully disengage, with the adjustment at max, with no pedal depression remaining before hitting the floor... the clutch pedal is way too hard to depress for a stock pressure plate install. Seems like something must have been installed wrong. or a faulty part in the assembly. Any ideas as to cause and cure? Thanks. Boomslang
Assuming that the clutch pedal travel was fine before and that you bought the correct length throw out bearing (there are two), I would suspect that the fork/bearing is not correctly connected.
Did you check the fit at the bearing onto the input give for no binding/tightness?
