I need some advice from those who have messed with hood adjustments. I'm finally getting my 1956 chevy truck back together. Engine is in and running, inner fenders and outer fenders are on and mated up great, I put the hood on last night, and it is almost a perfect fit, with all the gaps looking great. My problem is, when I raise the hood and lower it back down, the back sticks up about 3/4 to 1", all the way across. I can push it right down into place with no problem, and it looks great. Is there an adjustment that I'm not doing right? These are, I believe the original hood hinges, and were in great shape. I also have plenty of tension in the springs. Thanks for any advice.

Push the hood hinge mount UP a bit at a time. The hinge goes over center so needs to go up for the hood to go down. Hope this helps.

I actually had to grind out the bottom of the hinge holes maybe 1/8th" to get the hood down.

The hood on my 59 apache does the same thing (sits high in back when closed).
This is good advise Monty56. I'll try this hinge adjustment soon too.
