Hi there, I normally hang out in the 65/65 B-Body forum, but I was wondering if anyone can tell me, did all 64 327's in a Corvette had the double bump heads with 2.02" inlet valves? Or were the lower hp 327s fitted with smaller valve heads? TIA.

Lots of good discussion here.

What I found most interesting is that there is no unique casting for 2.02 vs 1.94 valves. The valve size is determined by machining the casting.

The subject of the larger valves has been discussed at length over the years. The increased airflow that is possible has to be properly tuned in the rest of the engine to make any difference.

I was always happy with the 1.94 valves, however, do what is in your vision.

It was an interesting read - the subject came up because there was a 64 Corvette on Ebay in the UK, it seemed to have later heads (with accessory bolt holes) but that got me wondering, did all Corvette engines in 64 have the 202 valves, or only the fuelie ones, and were the fuelie heads used on all corvettes? I didn't know they used 194 valves. Thanks again for the reply.

Keep in mind that whatever dollars you invest into flowing more air in needs to be able to flow that same air out.

When you consider that you have a minimal gain with those 2.02 valves, will your exhaust ever be able to actually flow that air or will it be capable?
