what is the correct radio for a 61 Impala bubbletop? is it the one with pushbuttons with the letters CHEVY?

The radio in my 1961 Impala convertible had the Chevy letters on the pushbuttons. I believe the front of the 1962 Chevrolet radio looks the same as the 1961 radio but did not have Chevy letters on the pushbuttons.

Yes that is correct. Also the 1961 radio was a tube type. Then in 1962 they were transistor.

Not true! The 61 was maybe a high-bred tube/transistor but the 62 was 100% transistor. Easy to tell when you first turn the radio on - the 61 took a moment for the tubes to warm up, the 62 was almost instantly on.
Growing up in the 50s and 60s, remembered how Amazing and magical those "all transistor" radios were when they first came out.
Oddly I had a 62 Vette with the Wonder-Bar radio and it still had tubes in it as I had to take it apart to replace the tube that made the signal detection wonder bar function. And it took a few seconds to warm up before your heard audio.

My 61 with a Delco push button radio did not require a warmup, it must have had a 62 radio installed as a replacement.

Is it possible different factories installed the all-transistor radios at different dates in '61-'62, as they ran out of the tube types?
1953 210 Convertible, 261 with dual Carter YF 966S carbs, P.S., Remote Bendix P.B. Booster... shade-tree restoration about done.

I owned the 61 in 1964 and can't remember all of the details. I had a 60 Impala after the 61 and remember that the radio had a warnup time.

Remember that Delco was not the only producer of radios available. Motorola was also a supplier, and they could have been installed by the dealer as they were an avenue for the dealers to make a few extra bucks over what a factory installed unit would bring them at final sale.
I still have a complete NOS Motorola TRANSISTOR unit I bought in 2004 but never used.

'62s were also transistor radios. The '61s had tubes to warm up.
