Hi,
Is there a book or does anyone have pictures as to how the electrical wires are physically routed in a 53 4Dr 210 Sedan?
For instance how are the wires routed from under the dashboard to the back lights, interior dome light, doors, engine compartment, etc.
Thanks in advance for any information!

This should answer your questions as far as the body wiring is concerned. You'd have to check the wiring diagram in the Shop Manual, which is a little cryptic, for the front end / engine wiring.

Thanks Ram_51!
That should do it. I ordered a complete wiring harness from YnZ which, in theory, should make the job easier. My car's wiring had been customized along with the routing so I should be able to get it back to stock.
By the way where did you get that picture?

The scan is from one of the 3 Body by Fisher Service News booklets that Fisher Body produced addressing some of the aspects of the new 1953 models / bodies. There were a few of these produced in 1949 that covered the GM "A" bodies and one for the Station Wagon. But since the 1953 body was somewhat of a departure from previous bodies, Fisher Body produced 3 for the 1953 bodies, which were good for 1954 as well, and one for 1954 addressing the power seats and windows. There were also a few produced after 1949 addressing the DI-NOC decal transfers used on the all steel station wagons, the 1950 Belair headlining, one for the Belair windshield and back glass, adjusting Belair hardware, the convertible folding top construction, and the convertible Hydro-Electric system.
These can be found at swap meets, on eBay, and Keith Hardy has a few scanned at his web page:

Thanks again Ram_51. Looks like a book that would come in handy down the road!
By any chance would it have pictures or specs on how the interior dome light is attached to the roof? The PO removed the interior dome light and perhaps removed / cut the bracket? I have purchased an original dome light which I will clean up but at some point I will need to attach it

I looked through the '49 Fisher "A" Body Manual and it says the dome light is screwed to the bracket. I didn't see anything in my additional Fisher Body News booklets. My Business Coupe is not done that way that is described in the '49 manual and I believe the '53s and '54s were done the way that my coupe is done. That said, the bracket that is welded to support has 4 metal tabs that insert into the oval holes in the base of the dome light. Once the base is in place, the tabs are twisted to hold the base firmly to the bracket. I suppose screws could be used, but there isn't a lot of clearance between the bracket and the roof panel. Since I have currently have the dome light removed in my Coupe, I will try to post a photo.

Thanks Ram_51.
Here are some photos I took of my 210 where the dome light should attach.

Your photos are probably better than I could have provided. Your bracket still has the twist tabs and doesn't not look to be altered. It looks as though all of your wires are intact as well. I see the bottom of the switch (top when installed) which is still connected to the switch wire. Photos below of oval or oblong slops in the switch base that the tabs go through and are then twisted. And an exploded view of the switch itself (with broken connection - of which yours still looks intact).

Thanks again!
I see what you are saying. My tabs are a bit worn but with any luck I can get them cleaned up and bent back in position to work.
The new wiring harness I ordered from YnZ should have new wires to use for the dome light.
You certainly are a wealth of information Ram_51 and I for one,as well as everyone using the "Chevy Talk" forum, appreciates very much.

When I requested a wiring harness for our '49 Canopy Express 1/2 ton truck, Y & Z didn't have one so they asked me to send them the pieces I had and they made a new one for me! Materials, workmanship, and instructions were all excellent. When I added fog lights they made that harness too. They are an excellent company to do business with. I think you will like their product.
Good luck with yours!
