Are you lookking for numebrs matching, or functional equivalent?
You can roll your own distributor with about any Chev distributor and a new Corvette HiPo shaft/football, and a new Std Motor products vac can, and change the springs. It won't be numbers matching though
You can also get a new 1965 425/396 Corvette timing cover and balancer from paragon reproductions, but note you must get BOTH, as the Corvette timing marks are 10* diff than pass car timing marks, on both the balancer ring and the cover tab.

Thank you for the info, much appreciated. I would like the correct distributor but really as long as it’s visually the same. Not to worried about numbers.

Actually the 65 and 66 big blocks use a distributor that has machined flats that help with the oil flow. Small block will fit and people will argue that it makes no difference, up to you.

The machined flats - are you referring to where it fits though the internal portion of the block so that the oil drains faster?

Here is an example of one on Ebay, the groove is to direct the oil on the 65, 66 engines.

all 1965-66 big block motors had a cam with a large groove in the rear cam journal.the blocks cams and rear cam bearing are all different from later motors.without this groove the rocker arms will receive no oil.i still have one of these cams in shop.you must take new cam to machine shop for groove to be machined.some say there is a new rear bearing to fix this, but iffy.i know.by the way the grooved cams will work in newer motors.
