I have a 400 small block with an Aluminum Edelbrock water pump in a 63 Impala. The heater now blows but just warm air. On the original build had had the original copper core rodded and it worked fine. I took it out and replaced it with a new one. The water flow on both seemed good when I had them both out. The new core produced the same result. I believe that on a 63 Impala the heater core water circulates constantly, and you just open a control door to let the air blow through it. Could it be possible that the water pump is not flowing enough hot water to it? Or do I not understand how the heater or water pump operates? Help Please I am cold!

I had the same issue once and found my heater hoses were installed incorrectly. Ensure you have hot (not radiator cooled) water going into the heater core. Once I realized that and reversed it, the hot air was plentiful.
I assume there is no water control valve. Are both hoses nice and hot when warmed up? If none are warm suggest thermostat, if o
nly one that suggests a blockage or improper flow. Good luck
