Both front bucket seats in my 63 Convertible sit very up right and are very Uncomfortable. Really bad on a long ride. Has anyone ever raised the front seat mounts to lean the seat back a few degrees? This seems like a no brainer, but the inside seat mount is a bracket welded to the floor with a threaded stud that the seat slips over. I thought about removing the rubber seat stops at the back of the seat, but that is a visual no no. Do you have the same problem or a fix?

All the factory 62, 63 & 64 SS Impalas had two studs on the inside mounts ( for each bucket seat) to mount the buckets to the floor pan. One stud is horizontal and one stud is at 45 degrees from horizontal.
All the outside floor mounts closest to the doors have 4 studs on the each floor mount on both seats
Do you have the correct factory floor mounts( as noted above) and the correct factory bucket seat brackets for a factory SS car?
If the SS floor brackets were added to the floor ( not factory installed ) they could have been installed incorrectly.
Pictures of your floor and seat brackets?

Paul: Yes it is all Factory just as you described. This is an original SS convertible car. It would be easy to just shim up the front outside mounts but the front inside mount stud is from the factory in a fixed horizontal position.
I need to get set up for pictures but haven't done that yet.

you could make the brackets like these -yet modify them to raise the front of your seat up.
These brackets were made to move the seats back from the factory mount location

Can you trim the bumpers down so that they are still there but allow the seat back to go back further?
