I am working on my 84 Caddy, but pretty much all the GM cars with 6 way power seats use the same parts, I think. I have both my seats out because they were all the way back and down. I have the replacement couplers to go between motor and the seat transmission gears. I was manually moving my seat rail back and forth with a drill, and all of a sudden, something just snapped. Upon further investigation, I discovered the worm gear that drives the big gear that moves the rail snapped. Of course, being a dumba$$ I did the same to the other one, so now I need two worm gears or the transmissions that interacts between the square drive cable and the seat rail I'm gonna try to post a couple of pics if I can figure out how. I will post in Monte Carlo forums also, Thanx!!

Somewhere online I remember seeing repair kits for those power seats. The parts are still available since they cover a wide range of GM vehicles from the era.

I'd select new versus used due to the age of the components.

People fear change because it threatens what they know, or what they claim to know.
