GA code on both the axle tube and broadcast sheet. 0121 build date that is proper for the Feb 6th car build date
I was under the impression that TH400 cars came only with 2.73 gears? Or maybe that was just the default ratio?
Obviously I like 3.07 better, my old 66/396 TH400 car had a 2.73 gear. Good for highway, but kind of doggy on accel. Too bad it isn't posi, I will have to rectify that.

Doug,
Take a look into the TrueTrac posi:
https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/catalog/diff erentia...
I discovered them just after installing an Auburn clutch style in a car. Driving a car back-to-back with the a clutched versus the Truetrac and there's no way I would ever go back.
I first put one in a 2001 lease truck and put 30K miles on it. I then put one in the 2003 truck, pulled the Gov-lock at roughly 300 miles, I bought. That has about 115K miles on it. I have one in my Chevelle from Moser and I have one in the 1968 Impala.
The only criticism I've heard is if you are rock climbing and one wheel is completely unloaded. In that situation it can put a lot of torque on the side in contact.
If you keep the differential gears it's done without removing the rear axle from the car.

Yeah, I am aware of those, i have an Eaton 33 spline in the narrowed 12 bolt in my '61 Corvette.
Changing a 12 bolt posi is a little more complex than doing a 10 bolt, but as long as one keeps the shims and the shim distance is the same, the new posi unit should go in without any issues.
