Looking to buy one of the smaller, original looking steering wheels for my '55. I see both 15 and 16 inch versions. I know the 16 " will accept the original trim but a friend said he bought one and quality was so bad he returned it and bought a 15". Can anyone else offer any personal experience information? Are there different manufacturers you'd recommend?

i don't have one, i looked at them, never bought one.
I go to a lot of cars shows and when you actually see one in a car, well they look out of place,
they look cheap.
It's like seeing the wrong hub caps on a car.
It's the 1958-1960 Impala steering wheel in 5-6-7's that catch the eye.

I guess it's a matter of individual taste. I personally don't like the '59 wheel at all. In an original looking interior I prefer an original look wheel.
