I had some body and paint work done on my '69 El Camino SS 396 and the gas gauge is now stuck at way past full, which I believe could be caused by a disconnected or broken wire from the sender in the gas tank. Can anyone tell me the path/route the wire takes from the tank to the dash/instrument panel? How does it get to the gauge?

Thanks folks!

I believe an over full reading indicates an open ground. I’m not certain if the ground runs all the way up or if it is grounded near the tank. It could be at the sender or the gauge.
