Can anyone tell me what the two wires with inline devices going to the side terminal junction are for? Maybe an alternator noise filter? I know the red line is the alternator hot wire.

The look like connectors that plug together.

People fear change because it threatens what they know, or what they claim to know.

I'm still relatively new to the 67-72's but I believe I saw that water proof connector on a 68 I am restoring. Can't remember where, however.

The upper wire with the cylinder-shaped object is a fusible link that goes to the buss bar on the horn relay. I'd have to check diagrams to be certain but it's the power feed to the truck. Another large red wire from the buss goes the firewall bulkhead connector.

Does your truck have an amp gauge? On my 72 C10, the amp gauge was not working. One of those wires is part of a shunt circuit for the amp gauge. The bulge in the wire contains a small fuse. I seem to recall a second fuse on the drivers side in the same area too.

While I suspected one of those fuses was blowen, (they were not) In my case reseating the instrument panel harness plug fixed my amp gauge.
