I'm going out to look at a 1964 El Camino. The car/truck is supposed to be from Nevada. The quarters are junk. It has a 70's steering column in it. The pictures make the floors look good. Original 283/Auto. No engine and converted to a 4-speed. It's supposed to have A/C and power windows.

So, what can anyone tell me about these cars/trucks? What should I be looking out for? Not real familiar with these.

The bottom of the back window is susceptible to rust. The chrome trim traps leaves and stays wet. Also, the footwell behind the cab can also be a place that rusts.

Thank you! I check those areas out. The pictures show it up on a trailer.

OK, against my better judgement, I bought the El Camino. The floors are a little rusty and the rear end was hit at one time. I work at a body shop and the first step will be if the frame is square. The frame 'looks' good and has a minimal amount of corrosion. I just want to make sure everything is square before pulling the body from the frame.
