I will need to replace my fuel pump again, due it is leaking. So this time I am looking besides quality after the correct, original style (4701).

Something better than Carter M4712 (had 2 units, one made in Mexico, one made in Korea) available?

My ride is a 1959 Bel Air with original V8 283 with 2BBL installed.

Thank you.

Do you have the original pump? They were rebuildable.
Perhaps checking on ebay or in hemmings for an original and rebuilding it may be a better way to go.

Or....getting one from a boneyard.

ONe of the problems now a=adays is low quality of parts.

rockauto carries the Carter and Delphi

Where did you get these pumps....I hope not on Ebay or Amazon. Those 2 places are full of junk counterfeit parts, 1959...

Whatever pump you buy, check the fuel pressure, many are putting out way more than they are rated for on a carb engine. You need no more than 5-6 lbs, IIRC.
