I'm in the process of installing A/C in my '55 210 w/ 6 cyl. eng. I'm using the Vintage Air kit. I didn't plan the project well. With double pulleys on the water pump shaft, and the addition of the narrowest electric fan with shroud I could find, the radiator has still been moved far enough forward that the box support that the hood latch mounts to now hits the front of the radiator when closing the hood. I have removed the box support and will have to modify the two hood rod braces in order for the hood to close. Now I need to come up with a custom hood latching mechanism. If anyone has done this or has some ideas, I would greatly appreciate it. Pics would also help. Thanks in advance.

2 days and no reply's.
I don't own a '55.
I have seen 100's of '55 Chevy's with A/C,
but i don't recall or did not notice the hood latch issue,
I agree pics of your issue would help.

I also have seen several '55s with A/C (I also live in Texas), but they have all been V8s. Mine is a 6 cylinder. With the radiator already in front of the horizontal core support, the addition of a dual pulley on the water pump shaft and an electric fan, has pushed the radiator further forward. I'm new to this forum and I do not see how to attach a pic. Any assistance will be appreciated.
