That sounds too good to pass up really!

Thanks very much for the post, those tq numbers are spectacular.

What cam specs, heads and intake are you running?

Cheers
James

Its just an 880 4-bolt main roller block, 0.030 over, clearenced, Scat 3.75 crank, 6" H-beams, Weisco forged flat tops with twin valve reliefs for 6cc dished, has 11:1 static compression. Heads are Assault Racing castings ported by Lloyd Elliot. They cc'd ~210cc and flow 274 cfm @ 0.500 and 291 @ 0.600 through a 2.02/1.60 valve. Cam is a custom comp hydraulic roller grind. 270/284 @ 0.06, 218/228 @ 0.050, 108 LSA and 106 ICL. 1.7 Scorpion roller rockers for 0.578 lift. Has Rhoads V-Max lifters cold lashed 0.014" off the bottom of their travel. At lower rpm the lifters make the cam 20° smaller. Intake manifold is a ported L31 truck EFI intake. Upper plenum is ported for an 80MM BBK throttle body. It has a 4" MAF and modified K&N air intake for a Kodiak truck (when dyno'd it had a stock GM 01+ van air box with the filter and end cap removed. With the paper filter and end cap in place it lost 18 hp. It has thorley tri-ys into factory GM dual 3" pipes to the muffler. Thunderbolt 3" high flow cats and Dual 3" in/Single 4" out Walker Ultra Quiet for an 8.1L truck and a 4" tail pipe. Through a 4L85E and 10.5" 14-bolt it put down 412 hp @ 5,600 and 430 tq @ 3,200 at the wheels. That number was on 93 octane pump gas in hot weather in a shop that was over 100F, after about 10-15 pulls and running for more than a 2 hours making tuning changes with the a/c blasting because I felt like being cool and it has a mechanical clutch fan with a duramax fan blade. I am sure it has a little more in it in cooler weather and on E85. Even with the hood open and a large fan blowing the intake air temp was in the 130F range.

Thanks for taking the time to put all that down, it's really interesting and very helpful.

No problem. When I still had the Vortec iron head 350 in it, 9.6:1 static from thinner head gaskets and shaved 906 heads, same headers, same exhaust, and a tiny 196/206 @ 0.050 roller cam with 1.7 roller rockers it put down 272 hp and 330 tq at the ground on a 95°F day. That pull was to 5,800 rpm. Power peaked at 4,700 but it stayed almost completely flat out to 5,500 then fell off.
