Greetings! Asking this for a friend, literally. He has a C4 with around 60K miles with the manual transmission. It has been in storage for the winter, and on the 1st drive, moving the shifter between gears is hard, and the clutch depress seems to have no tension. Release of clutch seems good. Wondering if there are any know issues with the C4 Manual transmission after storage time? I can get more details or description if needed. Thanks!

Sounds like the hydraulic clutch actuation and the system might need a new cylinder.

Does it get freer the more he drives? Way to heavier lube?

The C4 clutch hydraulic system is both self-bleeding and non-adjustable. Cycling the clutch pedal multiple times while on a level grade before driving will displace any trapped air pockets formed within either cylinder. If the threaded fittings of the hydraulic line between the clutch master and slave cylinder are tight there are only three places where air can enter into the slave cylinder assembly: The slave cylinder seal, the master cylinder seal or the fluid reservoir inlet.
I HAD A LITTLE FREE PLAY WHEN I BOUGHT MY 93,I JUST KEPT PUSHING THE PEDAL IN & OUT TILL IT WENT AWAY.BTW,I DRIVE MY 93 YEAR ROUND SO IT DOESNT SIT,IMHO NOT DRIVEING THEM IS NOT A GOOD IDEA.
