Hello all,
I would like to rewire my 1962 Impala 409 prior having my interior installed, prefer to rewire entire car. Any suggestions? Where to buy, suggested brand, etc. I'm open for suggestions or recommendations. Thank you all in advance.

I have noticed that the 1962 assembly manual shows a one piece Sun tachometer and wiring diagram. All of the factory tach 62's I have seen have been two piece with different wiring. Perhaps the one piece tach was a late in the year change. Does anyone know if this is true?

As the others have said, AAW is the best and their tech support is awesome. I redid my entire car using their factory fit series. They sell the engine and front light harnesses modified to accept an alternator and HEI distributor. The dash harness is the most pain but it wasn’t too terrible. It helps if you remove the front seats, drop the steering column and remove the instrument cluster.
If doing the dash harness (most important in my opinion) then it is also a good time to replace your firewall insulation pad. That job is not fun either as removing it resulted in it breaking apart in small chunks. I’m pretty sure I’m still blowing that old insulation pad stuff out of my nose.

I don't think the Sun non-transmitter FC tachometer models appeared until very late 1962. Certainly after Chevrolet 1962 model year production ceased.

We are assuming you want exact factory replacement wiring harnesses, correct? As opposed to a generic "hot rod" kit.
Going with factory replacement will be more expensive, but worth the extra money.
Yes, AAW is the way to go.

Thank you BigDogSS. I'm going with AAW. I called and reached out and received a breakdown of section, now time to buy.

Do not buy the classic update kit, buy only the original wiring harnesses.
The classic update requires at least 50 splices and your firewall has to be cut to mount new fuse box.
