on a 5-6-7 why doesn't the Vin number correspond with the body number?
does any 5-6-7 actually have the same vin numbers?
numbers not letters.
where are the real 5-6-7 GM productions numbers?

The body tag is sequentially assigned at the Fisher Body plant and transferred/shipped to the assembly plant. The VIN tag is sequentially assigned at the assembly plant (different location).

These are the real numbers.

total productions numbers vary from different sources,
A list that is available from Danchuk shows about 1,774,000 were made.
An article called The Chevrolet Story says about 1,825,000 were made.
Where are the real numbers?
Is there a 5-6-7 Car with the VIN number 1500000?

Additionally, the body plant numbers on the cowl tag are sequential for each body style. VIN numbers are sequential for each assembly plant.

what explains the lower production numbers at the Oakland and Los Angeles plants?
The danchuk numbers says the numbers on the charts are the last vin number per day,
I think it is really the body number.
https://www.danchuk.com/blog/wp-content/uploa ds/20...
These charts for 1955 shows the Oakland Plant to have assembled 094499 cars.
So it is possible for a 1955, V-8, 150 to have body number 001001 but have vin number
VA55L-123456?
