Does anyone know of an air cleaner riser for a Rochester B carb? The intake diameter is 2-5/8". My stock air cleaner (if I have the right one) hits the valve cover and intake fuel line. I only need to raise the ac an inch so. I can't find a riser on line.

Do you have the insulator/spacer between the intake manifold and the carb?
I would imagine the stock air cleaner wouldn't hit the valve cover.

I did see one for a 216 and a 235 with some C-C dimension. I'll have to do some measuring to see if they might work on a 292.

So here is where I am at: I'm finding insulators (spacers) close but no cigar. My Rochester B, number 7024009 (verified by tag and stamped number on bottom of base) bottom bore measures 1-3/4", C-C bottom mounting holes measure 1-15/16".

A couple of things. The carburetor you show is about 1958 (or newer) vintage. They used a different type of air cleaner as opposed to what was used in 1949-54. Second, there are two different insulators. One for the 216 (2-11/16") and one for the 235 (2-15/16". I think that's what you meant as opposed to 1-15/16". You need a 235 insulator.

Yes, I did mean 2-5/16", thank you.
When I went to the Filling Station they listed the 235 insulator as being 3" C-C. Now I see at Chev's of the 40's they show the 235 insulator as 2-15/16" C-C (thanks pauldian).
Here is what I found at the Carburetor Doctor:
Rochester Carburetor Numbering System
By the mid-1960s Rochester carburetor numbers started to become mostly standardized. Here are a couple of Rochester numbers decoded as examples:
7026203
'70': until 1975, all factory production Rochester numbers start with '70'
'2': 1960's carbs generally have a '2' in this place ('3' in this spot means special emissions, eg. California)
'6': means theyear six of the decade (1966).
'203': means Chevy 4 bbl (Quadrajet); '3': means manual transmission. Odd number are usually manual transmissions.
17080212
'170': starting in 1975, most Rochester numbers start this way
'8': means 1980's
'0': 1980
'212': means Chevy 4 bbl (Quadrajet); since this happens to be a truck carburetor, it could be manual or auto trans
That would make my 7024009 carb a 1964, same as my 292 engine.
You are right, I need a 235 insulator, thanks Ram.

Thanks, and here's an interesting bit of description form that Speedway link:
2.94" carb bolt center to center, or what is commonly referred to as the ' 3" ' carb or 'big pattern' carb with the 2-15/16" carb bolt spacing
I had found gaskets and insulators on other sites but they either did not list dimensions or listed the 235 stuff C-C as 3" so I was not sure if they would fit. One place even listed the gaskets as fitting both the 216 and 235.
